Strength, steadier energy and more confidence count. Here’s how to recognise progress when your body is changing.

When your body is changing, the scales can become a noisy and unhelpful measure of whether your plan is working. They only tell one small part of the story.
Choose markers that matter to you
Maybe you can carry the shopping more easily, finish a walk without dreading the hill or add a little weight to a lift you once avoided. Maybe you are sleeping more consistently or feel less anxious about going to the gym.
Keep a simple record
At the end of each week, write down one thing that felt stronger, easier or more enjoyable. Over a few months, those notes become evidence that the small actions are adding up.
Progress during menopause is not linear. The aim is to build a way of training and caring for yourself that you can trust.
